The term Report Stack refers to the list of all reports and documents that have been printed recently or have been queued for printing.

Whenever a report or document is printed, the base information the report or document was printed from is kept in the report stack for a defined period. The period is defined as part of the layout.

This means the report or document can be re-created for as long as it exists in the report stack. It's important to appreciate that the report stack only holds the data used, it does not hold the final rendered image. Re-printing from the report stack re-creates the image from the same data but using the current paper design. This means the report or document may be visually different if the paper design changes, but its information content will be the same.

The report stack can be accessed by pressing the Reports button from the reporter. A typical report stack showing 'to-do' reports is shown below:

The 'show' radio buttons can be used to show reports in various states. A common reason to open the report stack is to re-print a document subsequent to a generation error. In this case select the 'Error' radio option to see a list of reports that did not print for some reason. Pressing Detail will give an indication of that the problem may be.

Resolve the problem and press Do This Now to re-print it.
