How do I import my customer credit balances?

Sage Set-up Steps

Tell Sage what the required CSV file format is.
Sage needs to know what the CSV file format is that Match-IT expects. You do this by installing the Sage report format supplied with your  Match-ITsystem. To do this, copy the file sl_agedm.srt from your Match-IT configs directory to your sage directory.

If you’re running Sage Line 50 Version 9 or later, you must also perform the following:
 Select Settings
 Select Company Preferences
 Select Parameters
Check Use Data Path for Reports
This must be done on each Sage workstation that is going to be used for the transfer.

Sage Run Steps

Generate the SL_AGEDM.CSV file.
This is achieved by selecting the Customers module, then the Reports tool, then picking the Match-IT Aged Debtors CSV report. The report must be RUN and the output sent to a file with the name sl_agedm.csv. When Sage asks for the file name, you must first select the Comma Separated Files type, then enter or pick the name sl_agedm.csv. If Sage tells you the file already exists, just select the replace existing file option.

My sales aged debts are not transferring correctly!

There is a known problem with exporting CSV information from Sage Line 50 up to and including the current version (as of 07/06/2002 this is version 8). If you find your sales aged debt figures are not arriving correctly into Match-IT then you must install an alternative report and modify the transfer procedure. The procedures discussed above, in “How do I import my customer credit balances?”, must be modified as follows:

IMPORTANT: The alternative report creates a TXT file instead of a CSV file. This is essential to ‘trick’ Sage into doing what we want. The differences between this procedure and the normal one (given above) are highlighted in the text below by colouring them red.

Sage Set-up Steps

Tell Sage what the required TXT file format is.
Sage needs to know what the TXT file format is that Match-IT expects. You do this by installing the Sage report format supplied with your Match-IT system. To do this, copy the file sl_agedm2.srt from your Match-IT configs directory to your sage directory.

Sage Run Steps

Generate the SL_AGEDM.TXT file.
This is achieved by selecting the Customers module, then the Reports tool, then picking the Match-IT Aged Debtors TXT report. The report must be RUN and the output sent to a file with the name sl_agedm.txt. NOTE: If Sage advises that the margins are incorrect, select IGNORE – DO NOT SELECT FIX. When Sage asks for the file name, you must first select the Text Files type, then enter or pick the name sl_agedm.txt. If Sage tells you the file already exists, just select the replace existing file option.

My purchase aged debts are not transferring correctly!

The problem described above for the sales aged debt will also apply to the purchase aged debt export. There is a similar modified report to cope with this; it's pl_agedm2.srt. The procedure to install and run this is exactly analogous to the sales case.
